Q. Where is the best family place to vacation in florida....? so we have decided to go on vacation in april sometime. and we really want to go to disney in florida. but can't decide on a town to stay in. we dont want to stay in a real packed place such as orlando. we were thinking treasure island. give me some good family friendly places to stay. thanks!!

Sarasota and Siesta Key are very nice. There's also Panama City and Destin. You might look at Gulf Shores, Alabama too.
Q. Where is the best place to stay in kissimmee florida? my family is going on vacation in october. i am looking for a nice rental vacation villa/home for about 9-10 people, close to disney, etc. needs to be 5 bedrooms and 4 or 5 baths. i've looked around online, but would rather have some "personal testimonies" of some great places to stay or some not so great places, rather than just take a chance. any other info would be very helpful.

If you listen to me, you will love me for life!! lol I live in Davenport Fl in one of the subdivisions. There are tons of houses for rent. When I say tons, I mean LOTS! I live right near this place. The house next to me is even a rental. Now it's CALLED Davenport, Fl where I live, BUT I live about 10 minutes from Disney and like a mile from Kissimmee. I live closer to Disney then most people in Kissimmee. The best part is, it's right near I-4 and Disney is like 2 exits down. Anyway, the place is called sunsplash. Here's the website. You WON'T be disappointed. I know the house next to me gets rented for like a thousand a week. This one is nice with a pool and large porch. I LIVE on Ronald Reagen Parkway and the place is ACROSS from my subdivision lol. It's at bentley oaks. You'll see what I mean if you end up going there. You won't be disappointed.
Edit: As a matter of fact, I found a pic on the site that's in my subdivision. All the houses are great like this. This one's for rent by sunsplash as well.

Your budget of $150 may be a little low to get a decent place but I think that for around $200 a night you could do well. Keeping this budget in mind your best bet would be the Doubletree Grand Key Resort as it is probably more conducive to the family atmosphere. Keep in mind that the more central the location the higher the price will be. Some of the hotels can be quite pricey - around $400 or more a night. Another thing that you could try would be to pick a few hotels and sign up to receive their email specials. You may find something quite nice for a great price next January.

Q. Where is the best place to stay on sanibel island, florida??? me and my husband are going on vacation at the end of august. we want to go to sanibiel island for a week. this is our "honey-moon" 2,5 years later after wedding because we never had one.
what can you advice about cottages, places to eat and places too visit? and in general what is this place look like?

If you want an "old island" experience my pick would be "the Castaways." These are little cottages at the tip of Sanibel just before you cross the little bridge into Captiva. They are efficiency cottages. Some are bayside but I would opt for the beach side. They are OLD. Clean, comfortable and charming in my opinion. The beachside cottages have screened porches with an unobstructed ocean view, barbeque grills and are fairly private.
There are resorts and condos all over the island (including a really nice resort in Captiva) but I just LOVE these cottages.
If you are going in the spring, winter or fall I would recommend the hiking/biking tour at the Ding Darling wildlife/bird sanctuary. (In summer you will melt in about two minutes!)
In general: Part of Sanibel has been kept from development and is unspoiled and beautiful. Driving is VERY slow. Narrow winding roads. Part has mega-resorts and looks like any common Florida beach/condo area. There is a nice resort shopping area when you first arrive on the island. I have never had bad seafood at any of the restaurants. (The more primitive and dumpy the restaurants look, the better the food. Really.)
If you want to relax this is the island for you. If you want big excitement with lots to do then take a cruise (for a week, a cruise would be cheaper!) or go to South Beach for major nightlife and great restaurants (and BIG prices!)
I don't know if you are from Florida, but Sanibel is a Gulf coast barrier island. This means that it is evacuated when hurricanes start spinning unpredictably in the Gulf. I personally would not plan to go in August or September if it required major travel plans to get there.
