Hi, i'm currently in the process of writing a position paper for model united nations. could someone please give me a link to a website where i could find out what percentage of the u.n.'s money comes from which country, i don't know where to look, but i know it exists.

The UN is financed from assessed and voluntary contributions from member states. The regular two-year budgets of the UN and its specialized agencies are funded by assessments. The General Assembly approves the regular budget and determines the assessment for each member. This is broadly based on the relative capacity of each country to pay, as measured by their Gross National Income (GNI), with adjustments for external debt and low per capita income. The united states? we have burma, china, durfar, and a number of other horrible disasters going on, and they have no time to schedule a meeting on burma___, yet they set this study up. why does america continue to be whipped by the united nations? we send help to all these countries, yet the human rights counsel does everything it can to undermine the united states. it is the united states that funds this counsel more than any other country. this is sad.

Because they are so jealous. They want desperately to be the world controlling government and the United States is the primary ruling superpower today. If the United States pulled out of the United Nations, it would collapse, the same way the league of nations did years ago. most of the other nations don't want world peace. ASK New Yorkers, their are books about the abuses especially from nation not paying. The base contribution is made by percentage of the nation's member GNP (Gross National Product) if they do not produce anything, (maybe the goats) you and and all of us working and tax paying are paying for it. Once it was published that ONE of the UN delegates had 70 servants in USA , and food-goats imported from his homeland to USA, all paid by UN!

My model un club at my community college needs some money to be able to attend a model un competition in san francisco which takes place in april. also, theres another un event in new york. we;re located in southern cali, the community college. the school has agreed to cover some of the costs but primarily we need to fundraise ourselves. the san francisco trip would be about $2000 and the new york approx. $7000. how can we raise the money without continuing our small, lame bake sales that bring only about $50? i was thinking perhaps contacting all my local news stations to cover my story and have people donate that way. yet i assume the majority of people would donate only if it is tax deductible for them...so how can i make this happen? other suggestions are welcome. thank you so much! :-)

Have a cultural fair or dinner and serve foods from different lands. Charge a small fee for people to attend.

I understand the us gives about $60 billion per year to africa; i would guess israel must get much military money as well. how much does the us give to other countries in the past years?

I would hope the US would help Israel too. They have helped the terrorists in lots of ways and that never should have been the case. But, Africa, of course they always need lots of help. they were uneducated of course but they have been getting better in some areas. It's the missionaries who have helped the most I think, not because of money but because of prayer, patience, love, self-sacrifice and the support they were getting personally too, although they never get enough support.

Any interpreter could make well money if they are in the right field. United Nations probably would pat there interpreters well cause of the field. I say go for it.
