I opened an account at bank of america few years ago..i'm out of the states right now and wondering if there's any possibilities of my account being overdrawn. thank you for your time!

It's more likely, after a short period of years, that they would turn it over to the state for lack of activity. I would advise you to contact the bank and make a deposit or a withdrawal, at a minimum.

I just recently paid off my credit card for bank of america, it now has a $0 balance. i don't need to use it for anything anymore. is it beneficial in any way to keep it open? i might be buying a truck soon, does it look better when they check my credit if i have an open account with a $0 balance, or should i just go ahead and close the account since i won't be using it anymore?

Follow Ryans advice. Closing the account will hurt your credit, possibly severely. Your credit score is based on how much credit you have, how long you've had it. and how much you owe. Cards with a zero balance are good. Closing an account is almost always bad because you reduce your available credit. Closing an older account or one of the only one or two is very bad. Just use the card once every few months to avoid having them close the account or charging you an inactivity fee. Use the card for something cheap and pay it in full at the end of the month.

Just go to a bank that is closest to your house or work. Tell the bank representative that you wish to open a bank account. They will walk you through the paperwork. You will need some photo identification and enough money to open the account -- usually $25-$50. If you get a checking account, they will give you a ATM or Debit card that you can use in any ATM or at most stores. When you use your debit card, it acts like a credit card, except that it pulls the money directly from your bank account. They will also give you the paperwork to order checks. Your savings account usually has a higher interest rate and there are limitations on how many times you can withdraw money every month. You want to open one of each type of account. Just remember to bring cash with you to fund each account.
