It is not passable to convert a saving bank account into a current account. You have to open a fresh current account. That is all .

My business recently moved from a sole trader to a partnership meaning our bank account had to change. however we have quite a few monthly customers who need to let their bank know. i need a template or example letter that i can send to them to sign and then send onto their bank. any help?

Next time you get your council tax bill, you will receive a fresh s/o mandate. Follow the same design for your business and allow the mandate to be incorporated with a brief letter thanking for custom, explaining the change, and inviting completion of the form. It may be that you could contact your council now and ask for a new mandate for your domestic Council Tax. That way you have pattern to follow.

As they will need signatures, you will need to go to a branch of your bank, close your joint account, and open a personal account. Possibly might have to just remove yourself from the joint account, and may not be able to close it without other account holders signature. They will be able to give details on the procedures.

I want to inform my new bank account details to company, can you send the letter format ?

It is a simple letter in plain paper addressed to the Branch Manager that your address got changed now and want to incorporate the new address and you may please mention your New Address also in your letter. You need to attach the address proof also. Bank will make the necessary noting as soon as your letter is received at the Bank.

Heres the thing. i applied for my tax rebate at the end of nov. 09, and at the time i was filling in the forms i wasnt sure when i was gonna get back to the uk. ( im a non uk resident). so i provided hmrc with my friends account nr. ( just number and sortcode n name of the bank) who was also applying for the refund the thing is i have received my tax calculation which was issued on 17th feb n received it like in march and it said the repayment was going to be made in few days...which wasnt ..so i called in like 2 weeks later and firstly i was told to wait some more time n then i was told by other adviser to put the bank details again in writing ( cos i wanted to make sure i have put the right account number n they said they couldnt provide me with such info so i gotta post it on again) so ive sent another letter with the same bank details i stated before and today i have received a letter saying: "thank u for your recent letter. i can confirm that i reviewed your tax affairs for 2009/10 and would be grateful if you could advise how you would like this tax repayment paid to yourself" ... does this mean i could still send another bank account details?( cos now i know im goin uk for a holiday in summer, so will be able to withdraw it by myself from my uk account) im kinda confused now cos the hmrc officers cant provide u with the info if the payment was sent n i should wait, or if it wasnt, or in case it was, if it was sent to the correct account... but according to the last letter, it mite refer to the fact that the payment wasnt in process yet. ?? thanks

It is quite acceptable to ask for your repayment to be made to a third party, especially when you are not in the country. There is a section on form P85 for this. The request has to be in writing, but it doesn't matter in what format. Are you sure the money hasn't gone to your friend's account yet? Otherwise, I don't know why repayment can't be made. I am assuming you applied with form P85 and form P45? Sometimes there is a delay in sending a repayment out, because one in ten is selected for a security check. I think first you need to establish if repayment has been issued, in case it has gone astray. If so, HMRC should be able to tell you the date it was issued, where it went, and if the cheque has been cashed. If it is missing, they can cancel original cheque and issue another, that takes about three weeks. If cheque hasn't been sent, ask why. If repayment has not been issued, you can amend bank account details to suit yourself if necessary by writing to tax office.

A friend wants to open a basic bank account but doesn't have her passport with her. she applied for a visa to the home office and was denied three months ago but lodged an appeal which was accepted and currently being processed, waiting for the hearing date e.t.c. she has a letter stating her status on this matter and saying that she must not leave the country. she still works and her workplace and all the relevant authorities know of her position, she is just not sure if the banks will accept this letter as proof of id. do they? i dont know anything about this and was wondering if anyone has any idea, info e.t.c. ps: she is changing banks, that's why she needs to open a bank account

Banks are extremely picky nowadays about id. They need some form of personal id and something to prove her address. Actually, if she already has a bank account elsewhere, she may be able to use that to confirm her ID, the second bank will generally accept that the first bank must have carried out satisfactory ID checks. Her status in the country shouldn't really be an issue for the bank; some may accept a letter from her employer. Just to confirm though that her status while waiting for an appeal made in time to be heard remains the same; if she was allowed to work before, she's still allowed to work. I'm puzzled that they would give her a letter saying she must NOT leave the country; perhaps instead it is one stating the she must reside at a given address - in practice, she can move, but she must just inform them if she does. I really need help guys! i had a bank account with barclays in hastings, uk, back in 2002. in 2003 i left the uk. now, two moths ago i found my barclays bank papers in my old documents, phoned barclays to find out of the status of my bank account, i was told my account is still active and it has 5 pounds in it. i asked them if i can use it with my new debit card with barclays, they told me to change my personal account address where i'm living now, i told them that i'm not in the uk right now, customer service guy told me in order to change my address i should send a letter asking to change my account address to my overseas address and send it to barclays bank plc, leicester, leicestershire, le87 2bb. then, i sent a postal mail to above given address asking to change my address, waited for the moth and called them again to check out with them, they told me nothing has changed and asked to send it using a courier. on wednesday, i went to local ups courier and sent another letter to barclays. yesterday, i checked with a way bill tracking number given by the ups and it showed that it's been delivered to the destinations. later, that day i phoned to barclays to check out with them, to my surprise, when i've been asked by customer service guy for my personal details for security measures, i was asked for my telephone number which linked to my account, i couldn't remember my uk one, 'cause so far they never asked for my telephone number which i had in 2002, in the uk. so far, i've been asked only my full name, address details, date of birth, my uk address and my mother's maiden name, i was able to get my account with no problem. and, yesterday that customer service guy on the phone told me that "i failed to get authorization" to my account, 'cause i couldn't supply with a phone number to my account. i tried to call them again and other customer service guy told me that i'd already called them that day and failed authorization with stupid security questions and my account got blocked and he can't do anything with my account even get information. then, cs guy told me in order to unblock my account; i should go to the nearest barclays branch with my id card or dl. i tried to explain him, that there is no any single barclays branch where i'm living now, in uzbekistan and asked him is he can help me with anything to resolve this and guy told me to call back them again after 24 hours, in which they system completely restarts. now, i'm just in thoughts, may be barclays already has changed my bank account address details to my overseas one and attached my new overseas phone number and that's why i couldn't gain authorization from that guy on the phone. and i'm still wondering that it will be ok, after 24 hours with my account, that my account wouldn’t be still blocked, because of that stupid guy with weird english. is someone had such a stupid issue with barclays and please, how can i get to know has my account address details has changed yet and get my new debit card to my address. any help is appreciated. i'm so desperate and frustrated. thanks in advance. hey guys! it's not for five quids as you might thought, i've already spent $50 for ups and $30 for calls to the uk! i want that bank account to transfer money to the uk and use debit card with it.

My family are having the same problem. They have recently moved over to Bulgaria, and there barclays debit card is due to expire at the end of Dec. They called Barclays and asked for a new card to be sent to there new address, but they apparently dont send Barclays Debit cards to certain countries, due to code 4 (whatever that is!!) >:( They have declined sending me (there daughter) the card for them, and have said that my mum will have to see them in person. (At the moment she cant afford to travel back and forth to the UK & neither can I help her looking at the over expensive flights) so they will be left without any money!!

4 letters asking for payment and that they may take further action i will be providing them with new details but what is harassment as i know if you get 3 phone calls in 1 day from a debt company that can be seen as harassment also if a debit company stop you out side your house and ask for payment that can be seen as harassment what rights do i have with letters been sent
