If the lumps have been there for a long time then I wouldn`t worry too much but if they have appeared recently I would get them tested by your Doctor. Have you seen a medical professional yet?

I woke up and found that i had a big hard lump in my neck and two on my head... both on the right side. they hurt when touch them or move my neck and ive had an on and off head ache for a day and a half. im only 16. wat could it be?

Excessive GB Meridian has blockage at neck. pl see what suits you. If you are in cold country use all warm things. Pl try cold water bath and observe if in hot country, if pain increases use warm. Need help sick cat for more than 3 months please read everything...thank you. about 3 months ago i found a lump on the neck of my 10 year old cat mitsi. he was a healthy cat with lots of energy and not too fat or skinny just normal weight with a big appetite. the lump looked very big and hard and just appeared over night. since it was located next to his throat and looked like he was having problems breathing, i rushed him to the vet. the vet examined him and said that it was an abscess and needed to be drained. he is a home cat and doesn´t leave the house at all so i didn´t know where this abscess could have came from. he had a high fever and was ill, so the vet took blood tests and gave him a shot to lower the fever. the vet was very surprised that the lump was so hard so he decided to get a sample with a syringe. when he extracted the liquid from the lump it had a very bad smell and he said that it smelled like food gone bad and not like the smell of a abscess. he suggested that mitsi had to be operated were they would give him a small cut so they could drain the liquid. the liquid was drained and mitsi was left with an open wound to heal by itself, and was put on antibiotics (2 pills of norbrook noroclave 50mg and 1 baytril flavor 15mg) each day. he was doing fine till the hole started closing by itself then the lump came back but popped by itself. white little what looked like worms came out of the hole so i rushed him again to the vet. the vet pushed out the rest of the liquid and said again that the lump was very big and hard and that it was not normal. it had that smell of food gone bad again. after this happening twice the vet said that he could have a hole in his throat which was leaking food into his neck, since the lump was on his neck the vet said it was too close to his throat and veins and didn´t want to operate or try to repair the hole in his throat. he just said for him to continue to take antibiotics and not to eat any hard dry food. so after the vet drained the hole for the second time i took mitsi back home. during the process of healing at home i gave him very soft food with lots of liquid. now and then the same white looking worms would came out, but they didn´t move. he was improving a lot till the hole started closing for the third time, by the next day the lump was back. took him back to vet for third time but this time the lump wasn´t that bad, i told him he couldn’t live like this and i was willing to take him to a vet that would operate on him to correct his hole in his throat. the vet suggested that i took him to a clinic where they would put a camera inside his throat and could see if his walls in his throat had any damage. so the next day at the clinic they had a look(i was in the room too), and only found a healthy throat nice and pink in color. this is where i think the problems started… they gave him an injection to put him to sleep, but after a while he still had some movement so give him a second injection this time in the muscle. he went straight to sleep. his eyes were open and stayed open for the next 6 hours(time that it took him to wake up). they didn´t put any drops in his eyes after the exam so for 6 hours his eyes were open and dry. after 2 days he had a ulcer(small hole) in his right eye. took him back to vet and they were very upset that the clinic didn´t put eye drops in his eyes and came to believe that the ulcer was caused by dry eyes. they gave me tobrex tobramicina drops(antibiotics) to put in his eyes so it could heal(vet said to came back in 7 days).they also put a funnel on his head so he wouldn’t scratch his eyes. after 7 days he still had the ulcer, the vet said they had to close his third eyelid so it could heal by itself, and since the lump was lower down the neck he could also be operated to open him up and do a good cleaning inside his neck and try to see what was causing this lump. the vet said that there wasn´t too much stuff in his neck and could not find anything abnormal but they did a good clean inside and washed it with antibiotics. so 2 months and a few days had passed by and at the moment he was taking the antibiotics every day plus eye drops and 2 injections to make him sleep(during the exam with the camera in his throat),too much medicine… vet said to wait 3 weeks with third eye lid closed then to come back so they could open it. two weeks later mitsi started to get dry skin in his ears, flakes of dead skin and was very itchy. took him back again! by this time his lump was gone and neck was looking healthy. vet had one look at him and told me straight away that there was something wrong with him and had to stay at the vet to be treated because there was a bigger problem behind this all. two days went pass and i went to go and see mitsi at the vet. the vet had opened his third eye lid and said that his eye was healing good, and they done a good cleaning in his ears. but he still had to stay to see how he would improve. i i asked the vet if maybe he was allergic to the antibiotics that his was taking now for more then 2 months or maybe to the plastic funnel around his neck, the answer was no… i had to leave the country for 6 days and left mitsi with the vet so he could get proper treatment and could get better. when i came back expecting my mitsi to be better he had only gotten worse, he had now dry skin around his eyes, neck, ears, stomach, paws etc… , and he right eye was closed surgically again because it had gone worse. they gave him special food for allergies and had treated him with antibiotics. the answer that the vet gave me that he had a problem with his autoimmune system and his body was attacking itself. the solution would be to give him cortisone shot but they couldn´t give him that because it would not let his eye heal and he would go blind. he told me that he had suffered more than enough and that i should put him to sleep. before anything could be decided i thought that tests should be , to confirm that he really has an autoimmune problem and not suggest this or that… so they took more blood tests and took a biopsy of his skin on his stomach, during the wait of his results he good left eye got also sick and now also has a ulcer. the blood tests have game back and the vet said that his gamaglobins(don´t know the real word) were higher than normal which indicates an autoimmune disease. i am now giving him 1 pill of baytril flavor 15mg a day and 2 drops on tobrex tobramicina in each eye, panolog cream that has helped a lot to clean up the dead skin and helps the itchiness, and he his eating special food for allergies that cost 2euros a tin money is runny out as i have spend all my savings on him. i don´t know if the antibiotics are doing this, killing him slowly, i’m scared to give him the cortisone shots because he will go blind in both eyes. i don´t know what to do if there is anymore type of tests i can do as i don´t want him to lose his sight and i don´t want him to die. he has been my loyal pet for more than 10 years now, like a son to me and is very well behaved. he has a big appetite but tends to hide during the day because the light hurts his eyes but during the night he sleeps by me. he still has a big will to live… can you help me!!!

Oh my gosh, your poor Mitsi! Did the vet say what the bigger problem was? How can he take one look and just 'know' that? Please update your question and give more details! Add: If it were me, I would consult a different vet.

Hello, i am 25years old and for the last 9 months i have had swollen lymph nodes on booth sides of my neck. the left sides worse though and now i can feel a big one that is around near my voice box. i see an ent dr, but he keeps telling me to come back every few months and i don't feel right. i ahve had a few ultrasounds and they all show the mass of different sized lymph nodes and the ct scan shows them as well. i am going for anothe ultrasound next month then seeing him again in oct. my question is has anybody gone through this, and what was the outcome? i get cold real easily, my voice gets crocky i can't yell properly, i find it hard to swollow things like cake, bread ect and i can't drink fast (scull) when i lift my head up. my throats not sure, but i touch one of the lumps near my voice box it feels tender. what do think it is? the last ultrasound about 2 months ago, showed one of the nodes is just over 1cm now. ta anyhelp would be appreciated. thankyou

See a different doctor, it can be many things from minor to major and you should get a Dr. who is more aggressive. See if a PET scan is helpful (ask your Dr.) But get a 2nd opinion on this ASAP.

People can suggest what's may be the problem, but it'll be a lot better if you actually went to the doctor to get this checked out. That way, it would be a lot more thorough and you would know for sure if it's a real problem or not (:

Recently i had a bad cold and i lost my voice, but i'm better now. while i was sick i developed a lump, the size of a pea, on the right side of my neck near my hairline. my parents told me it's just a gland thats swollen up because of my cold and that it couldn't be anything serious because i'm too young, so i didn't worry (i'm only 15). but yesterday i found another lump, bigger than the other one, on my head. they don't seem to be related in any way.. the one on my head is quite hard, almost like its part of my skull, and the one on my neck is more soft. neither lumps move and they are both very painful - i can feel the one on my neck when i turn my head and i can't sleep on my right side because of them. i haven't seen a doctor yet. does anyone know what these lumps could be?

Sounds like a swollen lymph node. If they don't go away in 2-3 weeks, see your doctor.
