I would suggest you see a doctor it could be lupus

i have the same thing exsept outside my nose i put peroxide on it that helped.. then it just got red and wont go away and it looks like a zit and is very noticable and ugly. Everytime i touch it it hurts jist try not to touch it if u have to then wash your hands first amd after put a dab of peroxide that should take care of some of the pain. Hope i helped :).

I had some nose sores in my nose that wouldn`t heal for a couple months, and then I bought some Neosporin ointment and applied it with Q tips and the sores healed in about 3 days. Put in the morning and at night. Hope this helps

I work in the intensive care unit of a hospital, and it is no longer advised to put peroxide on any kind of open sore or skin lesion . This is because the peroxide actually eats away at the skin. Try instead witch hazel, betadine or neosporin for relief and healing.

Look up staph infection of the inner nostril. sounds quite a bit like you may be suffereing from this, and it tends to be common.

I just got my nose pierced. and they said 3-6 months, but what i really am asking, is how long will it take for the pain to go away? my nose is really tender and sore. i got it done about a week ago and its kinda swollen, but i bump it when my boyfriend kisses me and we just mess around and i think it might have affected it. i'm kinda worried since i had problems with my cartilage healing after a piercing. thanks!

I have a 7 yr old cross collie/spaniel her little nose is dry,scabbed and sore,had her at vet 3 times in last 2 months,they said it could be an immune system problem,they prescribed steroids 30 prednisdlone 5mg whilst these did help as soon as course is finished it reaccurs,please help,my vet is at a loss,and i hate to see my wee dog suffer

Usually, a dry scabby nose indicates an underlying illness. But not always. Try putting Vaseline on her nose a few times a day, for a couple of weeks. You should see an improvement quite quickly.

I got my nose pierced roughly a month ago (march 7th) it was fine until recently it developed a small bump next to the piercing. now that lump has turned into a small open sore. it looks like its right next to the hole. i've been soaking it in warm water and salt as well as cleaning it with the stuff they gave me when i got it pierced. is there anything else i can do to speed up the healing process? it doesn't hurt at all, it just looks pretty bad. i'm using the sea salt they gave me where i got it pierced, not table salt :) will anything make it less red?

I'm pretty sure it should go away. When I had mine done it gave me similar problems but it went away and now it's like its always been there. Just make sure you avoid anything that can infect it. Such as make-up, dirty hands. Always wash your hands when treating a healing nose piercing. I also used unscented Dove soap on my piercing. Good luck :]

My old aunty has a sore on her nose its been there for months starts to get better then breaks out again has anyone got any idea what this could be she wont go to docs im worried incase its skin cancer thanx

You are very correct to be concerned-it could be cancer that she has ,and is scared of finding out- try telling her that pre-cancerous skin conditions can easily be sorted out by her GP in the surgery with just a puff of liquid nitrogen.

Okay this has been driving me crazy for 4 months now. i picked a spot that was between my eye and my nose back in april, i expected it to heal and it did, but a few days later i washed my face abit to hard to get rid of some blackheads and it came back again as a red scar. if you leave it alone the scar disappears and don't notice it however as soon as i wash my face or come out the shower/bath it is red. i want to get rid of this thing as sometimes it takes ages for the redness to go away and looks exactly like a spot. can anyone recommend anything that will get rid of this? also my nose has been quite red and sore recently too, can anyone recommend anything that will get rid of the redness?

Hi richdude - IF you're a "rich" dude, maybe you can get to see a dermatologist (a physician specializing in skin disorders) when your troublesome spot is showing. Avoid any more picking which could introduce redness and possible infection. An over-the-counter 1% topical cortisone skin cream often helps reduce redness.

I'm not sure what it is. i noticed about a month ago that he had what looked like a scratch or a scar on his nose. i figured he had just been scratched by our puppy. i've been keeping a watch on it and now it's looking a lot worse. it's sort of flaps, as in it looks like it could peel away. he has his fur covering it, but underneath the fur it looks scabby and crusty. i poked around gently on it and it did not seem to hurt him. he's not acting sick or in pain, although i know cats are very clever at hiding illness. it will be at least a couple of weeks before i can take him to a vet? do you guys think i need too or should i see if it starts to heal? i have pictures of the growth/sore if you guys need to see it although i'm not sure how much you'll be able to tell. he's not losing weight or anything - no personality changes or lack of playfulness. he is a little over one year old and he has not been neutered. i love him so much! any advice would be appreciated! thanks! just for the record - he is due to be neutered in a couple of weeks!

My cat gets those. It happens when they get a scratch, and it starts healing, the hair can actually pull up and off. What you get is a small chunk of hair with some skin attached. If the scratch does not bother the cat, and there is no bleeding, pus, redness or heat around the scratch, then it should heal on it's own.

About a month ago i ended up with swimmer's ear that turned into otitis media and i was put on medication and it finally started healing up. this last saturday i woke up with a sore throat then the next morning i had a sore throat, chest congestion, and stuffed up nose. my husband is insisting that it's probably drainage from my ear infection thats causing my sore throat, chest congestion, and stuffed up nose so could that be? what can i do to help clear this up? i've been staying away from milk products, i've been taking ester-c, i've been drinking a lot of herbal warm tea's with honey, i've been taking noni fruit immune boosting supplement, for the past couple of nights i've wore sweat pants and socks to bed and used a lot of blankets to try and sweat it out, i've also been using vicks vapor rub. does anyone have any other suggestions or ideas cause this is really starting to bring me down?

Check in with your doctor! You could have a real infection that if untreated could turn into pneumonia. Go to an urgent care walk in clinic ASAP. The doctors there are accustomed to seeing patients with problems like you're having.

It doesnt hurt but it gets a litle sore. im pretty sure its healed and i keep it clean. i just cant get the nose screw in. its like it wont go in all the way and i already read that piece on that naked truth site but i still cant get it.

the hole still might be small and still forming. hope this helps =]

Over the last 6 months or so, i have gotten a sore like this, 4 times. there is a scab on the inside, and it is extremly teneder to the touch. like i hit it on my pillow one morning, and it stung so bad, it made my eyes water. (not cry, water.... like onions) ussualy anti-biotic ointment has helped it heal quick before. this time, it seemed just like the other times, and i have been doing the anti-biotic ointment, and it seemed to be getting better -- but in the last, day it has gotten way more swollen than the other times -- while very strangely, getting less tender. so it's not as sore now, but it's this huge bump on my nose. does anyone know what this is, and/or if there is anything i can do aside from anti-biotic ointment? here is a link to a collage of pics. http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/ 8620/collagedf3.jpg

Lovely pictures!. I don't know what it is as I'm not medically trained but it looks like a boil. Try holding a hot flannel (as hot as you can stand) on it, this may bring it to a head and it should either burst or soften. If it doesn't go over the weekend go and see a doctor, you may need antibiotics to shift it.

A keloid formed and has finally gone down, but its still red, and crusty and sore. ive been trying to put that h2ocean sea spray on it regularly, i dont know if its doing much, what else can i do to heal it?

Clean it regularly with antibacterial soap and water, in the shower usually works best. After a week or so and it's still not healing, see a doctor, they will provide you with a antibiotic cream specially for this issue.
