I have a really hard lump on my hand, its on the crease where my index finger meets the palm of my hand, what is it?

Initially, about 3 or 4 months ago I noticed it, it didnt hurt or anything, but recently I`ve noticed its gotten bigger and when I touch it it hurts, like the feeling when you apply slight pressure to a bruise. It`s pea-sized at the moment.

- Hi 2 years ago i stabbed myself with a screw driver in my hand and a part of my skin got stuck inside my hand since then the lump grew. i went to the doctors a year ago and they said it was dupuytren`s contracture they operated and it has grown back. i don`t think that this is correct i just think its the skin growing in my hand is this posible
