today i was ordered funds that was turned over to the court during the hearings. i am representing myself. the judge told me to write an order for the funds. do you have a sample of the verbage? the clerk told me to look for a sample letter one online and i can't find anything general or relevant. i just want to state that i am awarded this money and want it sent to my home. any information would be greatly appreciated. thank you

After all it is your money they have, you don't have to be all, "may I please have my money now, please"? Oh, h*ll no! Treat them like treat you, you know "rude". jk they get paid to be rude, so, they'll eat you alive. Did the judge give you an "abstract" to submit. The judge did give you an "abstract" right? Because without one, your not going to get very far. Otherwise, everyone would be writing those letters.

Many jobs at educational facilities provide free education - but at their facility only. It may be the same with your accommodations. Check your employee handbook and work with the wording that they put in it. You might also try to just get a raise if they won't go for the allowance. You might say something like: "As stated in the company benefit handbook an employee is entitled to living accommodations however since the current policy will only accommodate single employees or those whom are married to other employees I am respectfully requesting monetary compensation to be used toward other accommodations , since my recent marriage no longer allows me to take advantage of this benefit."

For example if you need the funds to cover a hospital charge or college tuition you are more likely to receive the funds than say if you were requesting funds to cover a gambling or insurance lapse . Although both are needs the later represents poor judgment and is likely to be turned down for assistance. There are many example of letters but an honest clear and personal request will go further and be more likely to obtain the funds you require. Good Luck!

If I understand correctly, the employer is introducing the employee to ANOTHER company, so the letter is a reference? If so, then the first answer you received is not the right sort of letter. I think you need something more like this: Dear Ms Smith I am writing in reply to your request (dated 6 May 2008) for a formal reference for Mr Jones. Mr Jones was employed by Old Company Ltd in the position of Sales Assistant. His employment with us started on 1 April 2005 and his contract terminated on 30 April 2008. Mr Jones was employed on a full-time basis, working 40 hours per week. Mr Jones' base salary was £20,000 plus our company's standard package of employment benefits, including a non-contributory pension. Yours sincerely Ms Pink The letter should have Old Company's letterhead and be addressed to Ms Smith at New Company. I hope this helps, but do please ask if you would like anything further. Tom
