How much do most houses cost?

Don't know prices in Belize, but...Mexico is a BIG country and rents vary in different parts. I live in the state of Veracruz and have a nice 2 bedroom house for 3500 pesos a month..about $330.00 U.S. per month. You can rent houses around here from about $250 to $500.00 a month...average, not luxurious, not dumps...2 to 3 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms. In VERY small towns the rent is less, in big cities it is more. If you want to live very simply , you can find a house for $200.00 or so. Many landlords require that you have a local person who will co-sign the lease with you, or have you pay a 2 month rent am't as a deposit.

Well, Mexico City is hughe and is a vast array of prices. But I can tell you is not cheap at all. In my neighbourhood (a midle class one), a flat with 2 rooms costs about 200, 000 USD. Take a look on segundamano.com.mx

I'm thinking of moving there with my two kids, i'm a young person with experience in network administration. not sure how hard it is to get a job there, buy a car, house etc. also schooling for my kids.

I don't know why people has this perception about Guadalajara. Do not believe them. Welcome to Guadalajara. This is a beautiful and friendly city that has a lot of job opportunities for people like you. We have a lot of maquiladoras and industry here from Japan, US, etc. who are looking always for people like you. This is a very modern city that has everything you can find in a US city. I live here and I work for a company in Florida, and I can tell you that you can live here comfortably with around 2,500 to 3000 USD a month, including the private school for your kids. I have two kids in high school in a very good private university (Univa) and I pay around 500.00 usd monthly for both. A small car will cost you around 9,000.00, and a house in a good zone (not high class zone) will cost you around 150,000 or 200,000.00 usd. The best area to live in is Zapopan (west Guadalajara)

I'm wondering about the average cost of a really cheap house in mexico. i don't need a/c, electricity, internet, or insurance. just running water. it doesn't have to be nice or fancy, but it does need a real roof. a palapa doesn't count. also it has to be no more than a 5 minute walk from the beach and no more than 1/2 hour drive to the local market. i can't seem to find any information on a house like this. all the real estate websites i looked at are selling more luxurious homes, but im only interested in basically a cement shack about the size of a large living room with extremely modest living conditions. so basically it should 1. have a real roof (cement/shingle/tile) 2. be about 5 minutes or less from the beach 3. be close enough to a market or city center that i can take a bus or taxi there in about 1/2 hour or less 4. have running water 5. most importantly it can't be in a place where there is a lot of crime. (not like near the us border) anyways i would definitely appreciate information/advice/comments on this. thanks a lot!

Well, requesting that the house be by the beach automatically means it won't be cheap. I'd say buy a beater and renovate it. However, try to have a Mexican buy it for you, as the price will go up even further when the seller sees you are a foreigner.

I am white middle class and hear so much ignorance living in california from white relatives and friends how the mexicans are taking all the jobs and how they are rude, criminals and the borders should be closed. the reality of these kind of statement are that these are white middle class people with good jobs and enough food and drink to not only survive but to eat and drink in excess with average size houses saying this, most of the people crossing over the border from mexico to america are doing so out of survival, parents protecting there children, husbands protecting their wives, thriving to find more opportunity, we do not chose where we are born. it is so unfortunate that a people so stunningly beautifull culturally, spiritually and physically are forced to cross these borders and after they make it across the deadly sonoran desert, have to deal with ignorant citizens and old politicians with mansions casually saying that it is a political and not moral issue.

SOME people have no hearts--it's all about the next presidential election...(I live in Southern AZ--but have a heart).

That's the thing, you don't know how there going to do it, and if it's public - good luck getting in. When you say 'questions' it reminds me of the polls where people realized they got duped into believing the Senate bill was the way to go. So be careful.

Hi, i asked a question about which is better out of canada and america a while ago. jackie said to come to america through mexico??? what does that mean, he doesnt allow email so i couldnt ask him directly. i dont really have a reason to move to either, just want to. how hard will it be to immigrate? i have checked the websites and it all seems very confusing! io have just missed the cut off period for the american visa lottery thing...how weird i thought having a lottery to get into a country lol! do i need a reason to immigrate? :) also, i know it would vary a lot but can anyone give me an average house price for both canada and america. small town, nice but nothing to flash. big enough for two kids aswell. i know this sounds like a silly question with a million answers but a few people said that its cheaper in america than in canada??? :)

When the person said you should come to America through Mexico, he was trying to br funny and he meant you should try to enter the U.s. illegally from Mexico...a truly stupid idea. It is difficult to immigrate to either Canada or the U.S. and takes years to do. House prices should not be your concern now. the U.S. has a lottery for immigration because there are SOOOOOOOO many people who want to immigrate to the U.s. that they need to shorten the list in as fair a way as they cn. Only way to get immigration info is through the embassy, embassy website, or an immigration lawyer. I believe the cost of living is lower in the U.s. because we do not have socialized medicine. socialized medicine ends u costing the people MORE because taxes must be higher...lots of social programs means higher taxes. Unless you really. really want to immigrate...don't. It is a lot of work , and takes several years.

[4] immigration must be deemed appropriate, and assimilate to the national average and their proper distribution throughout the country.{article 3, section 7} foreign nationals are restricted when the national interest so requires.{article 3, section 8} immigration to urban population centers can be restricted to ensure effective delivery public services.{article 3, section 9} the immigration of foreigners is allowed according to their potential to contribute to national progress.{article 32} foreigners are subject to approval concerning appropriate activities they will pursue, and the location of residence.{article 34} immigrants must be useful elements for the country and have the income needed for subsistence and persons under their economic dependence.{article 34} foreigners may be denied entry for the following reasons, if: no international reciprocity, the national demographic balance is altered, it is deemed harmful to the national economic interests, he/she has violated national law or have a poor record abroad, deemed not physically or mentally healthy. for a foreigner to pursue other activities in addition to those that have been expressly authorized, requires permission from the interior ministry.{article 37} the authorities of the republic, whether federal, local or municipal, as well as public notaries, are obliged to check if foreigners are legally in the country.{article 72} the judicial authorities are required to notify the interior ministry of defendants of foreign descent who are being prosecuted, and sentencing handed down. hmm. so tell me how this is different than arizona’s law? in fact its even worse. there is no anti discrimination verbiage.

Calderon and his fellow MEXICAN lawmakers seem to forget in which country they elected, as in "Calderon has vowed to push for immigration reform..." Fine, let's reform our immigration laws with regards to Mexico. Let's adopt their law that says even 1st offenders are felons, any law enforcement official must 1st determine the immigration status of any foreigner before proceeding to any other issue, etc. Oh and how about, any armed Mexican military personnel who cross the border will be considered to have committed an act of war.
