I'm trying to claim back some expenses for having to wash my own uniform for work but was wandering how much i could claim over a year taking into account water, electricity and products to clean it i didn't ask if it was worthwhile just how much it would cost. i've heard of people who have got upto 50 quid back an thats better in my pocket than theres thanks

There is no simple answer to your question. It depends on each school. And uniform is not only one product. It's total set of blouse, skirt, shoes, socks, bag and even uniform for gym class. You have to buy all of them. I don't know how much it could be. But I think it could be 40,000-80,000 yen in general.

I'm considering a boarding school for my son, but am not sure if the cost of sending him there is more or less then what i would spend other wise. it would cost $26,150 per year this includes tuition, room, board, one time uniform fee, laundry, linens, and cleaning fees.

It will definitely be more to send him to a boarding school. You don't have to pay for tuition or room and board when he's staying at home attending a public school. Sure there are expenses that pop up here and there, but there really is no comparison in cost to public vs. boarding school.

Okay, so im writing a persuasive essay on school uniforms, and one fact i would like to use is their cost...so do you only get one uniform? or do they give you 3 or one for each weekday? or how much does it cost over a total school year? does it cost less/more than if you didn't wear a uniform. because usually, with public schools, you buy new clothes at the beginning of the year for back to school, then you're buying new clothes in winter, spring, and maybe the end of the school year. so you're spending a lot, just spaced out. how much do you spend if you go to public school year round? thanks! hope that makes sense! and also, what are your ideas on school uniforms? if you wear them, do you like them or not? do you agree that self-expression is not determined by designer clothes or fashion, you express yourself through your personality, how you speak and act and so on?

i went to catholic school a couple of years ago. i spent like 300$ on uniform. it was like 5 shirts 2 skirts shoes, tights, and 2 blazers. i go to public now , and i love to shop so i buy a lot of clothes and always did. i liked the uniforms though, they were cute except for the blazer. i spend like the same amount of money either was.

Their uniform costs are extortionate and i am buying for two kids so it's double the cost. i am buying the blazers from marks spencer as its cheaper and i plan to put the school logo badge on it if it is available. can u believe its £32 for a track suit for an 11 year old. the track suit is a shell suit with a logo but theyve said i can just get black track suit. so i've bought a plain black one obviously its not a shell suit cos i cant find em anywhere, would that be a problem? they've asked for football boots, shin pads, trainers it all adds up so what if i cant afford all the exact things they ask for?

I work in a school. First thing to do is to speak to the school. Some schools have spare uniforms for parents who cannot afford it, accidents in school with uniform etc. SOme may have funds that you can take advantage of if you do not qualify for local authority assistance. Before buying the blazer, check that the logo is available. My school logo is not available without purchasing the "official" blazer. If you are unable to buy the uniform before the first day of term go with your child to school. Try to arrive before school start time and ask to speak to someone. Hopefully they wll assist you with a solution to the problem. Please do not be embarassed, I feel that uniform prices are extortionate. Any good school will be considerate and hopefully this will prevent your children from being sent home. The problem is that if they are not in uniform they are breaking school rules.

PUBLIC schools want to raise fees paid by parents to compensate for State Government cuts to their budgets. The increases could lift basic fees at top public secondary schools to $700 and charges for primary students to $400 - a rise of about $100 in some cases. This year, the fee recommended by the Education Department was $244 for secondary schools and $182 for primary, although many charge more with parents' and departmental approval. He said his own school - the Australian Science and Mathematics School at Flinders University - usually kept its fee increases in line with inflation. "This school's fees are around the $650 mark. On the basis of 2.5 to 3 per cent CPI rate, we'd probably look at a $50 increase," he said. Glenunga International High School principal Bob Knight said the school was considering higher fees for optional courses including vocational subjects and the International Baccalaureate. "Anything above the standard we are going to have a look at," he said. The Education Department sets a minimum fee for public schools to charge their students for "materials and services" - money that covers books and equipment for libraries, laboratories and special subjects. At my old job i was made to pay 8.25 per week (worked out to roughly $310 last year) for uniforms, with my employer matchin the 8.25 to cover the total cost. can i deduct that $310 off my income taxes under employment expenses?

you sure can, my husband did, but i think you have to have a total of more than that. so try to use car mileage, tools, or any other thing you have bought for work.
