The few weeks before school, all my friends buy new school clothes. actually their parents do. my mom and dad are kinda poor and this year i am saving up to buy my own. i am just wondering how much the average teen spends every summer on new clohting :p im 15, female btw please add age!

I am finished with school now, but your question caught my attention. My family was kind of poor too when I was in high school so I had to keep the spending to a minimum . I usually got 1 new pair of shoes, 2 new shirts, 2 pairs of jeans, and 1 pack each of um.. underclothes. So between $100 and $150 if you include the mandatory band t-shirt I had to get once school started. My daughter is 8. My goal is to go to the mall with $300 before each school year. $200 for her, $100 for me. We try not to spend all of it, but unless we run into a good sale, it goes fast.

What is an average amount and list of what a woman spends each month? recently i have been trying explain to my husband that i want to get more things like clothes and highlights. what are some monthly expenses for a woman. i am 25, so these are not just what a teen might spend. i am talking like pricing of keeping up highlights, nails, blue jeans, make up, face wash, lotions, tanning... things i'm forgetting... the main reason i am asking... i am a sahm and have a 6 month old. i have been married nearly 4 years, and i do not feel like i have enough money for me. meaning, i get $50.00 a week for groceries, diapers, wipes, all the baby food, our food, all clothes my husband's, mine and the baby... i only get my hair cut twice a year, and my husband complains so much when i talk about a manicure, highlights, new clothes (i've had these forever). i want him to understand that not only am i extremely cheap... someday down the road i don't want to have to be this cheap anymore. what i really want is a list of things women in general might do each month, so i can show him how many ways i save him money. also i might circle some things on the list i would like in the future to begin doing for myself.

Ok...You have got to explain how FIFTY DOLLARS a week buys all of that stuff? That is NOT possible. If you can do that, you need to write a book. Just getting my hair washed and styled in a WEEKLY maintenance costs almost $200....by the time I tip the shampoo girl and my stylist, I am close to $300. I know you posted this before, so it has to be very important to you. Your husband should be falling down and worshipping you, having only $50 to spend weekly on everything. I am still trying to figure out how you do that. I have a one year old Chocolate Princess and her stuff - diapers, food, essentials, entertainment, clothing, shoes - bites out a cool grand per month. They grow so fast, it seems like I am buying clothes every week. Why don't you try getting a job to bring in some extra money. Being a stay-at-home mom puts you under the whims and fancies of the person making the money. For all the things I buy, I never touch my own money. My husband doesn't 'police' what I buy from any of the accounts, so it is easy for me. But even if he did, I have an income as well. Get a job and let him pay day care. Day care costs should begin to show him your worth.....

Well my sister is 11 (nearly 12) and she and my mum have discussed modeling, i think she has the potential. my mum says that its not easy but if its what she whats then she could have a portfolio taken for her birthday (coming up next month). she is very wise and doesnt want a lot of money spent on her because she may not get through. her brother is going to sixth form next year and is going to study photography, would modeling agencies be okay with her brother taking the pictures? he is a very good photographer. also, is it true that with all modeling agencies you have to pay them to find you work?! she also has a back-up option because in the magazine called shout she reads, every year it holds a modeling competition for new look, a preteen and teen clothes shop. she was going to enter last time but she thought maybe she was a little young. next time the competition comes round she'll nearly be 13 which is a suitable age. we are in southern uk and do you think theyd mind about the pictures, and do you really have to pay the agency to find you work? if you know some free secure modeling agencies for preteens/teens then that would be fantastic. please bear in mind that we are an average british family with a beautiful preteen in the family :) thank you very much for any answers that you've put effort into x

You do not pay them upfront. You only pay for your portfolio shoots. They are supposed to get you work and that's how they make money. That's why agencies are very picky with who they select. But the question is: do you really want her mixed up in that world so soon? Seriously, it's cutthroat. I'm a model as well (no Doutzen Kroes though) and I'm 22. When I see the pressure this industry inflicts on these young girls, it makes me sad. I say, let her be a kid and a teen first and let her try when she's 15/16 (by entering the Elite Model Look contest for example.) Meanwhile, you can do your research, see which agencies you'd think are suitable. I would go for the big ones, if she really has potential.

This question is for teens as well as parents of teens. do you feel a child of 18 years should work and attend school or should they be totally reliant on what their parents provide. i have an 18 year old daughter who has a 90 average in her last year of high school. i am very please with her academic success however that is about it. she constantly has to be told to clean up behind herself and she does not work. she uses all my cosmetics and wears my clothes after i have gone to work. some of my friends who have children who are not doing well say that i am lucky that she is doing well in school. i feel that doing well in school is excellent however it is not an excuse to be lazy in every other aspect of your life. i want responsible adults and teens to let me know how you feel on this matter. i pay her cell phone bill and give her 80 dollars every two weeks. she doesn't spend it on lip gloss and hair gel. she goes in my room and takes mine. im so done.

She's 18. She should no longer have her cell-phone paid for, and she should not be getting an allowance, let alone 80 dollars every 2 weeks. Time to cut the apron strings! Put a lock on your door so that she can't get in there. Write down a list of chores she has to do, and if you want to give her any money then make it reliant on her doing her chores as well as getting good grades. My mom used to give us something like $10 for every A, $5 for every B, and $1-2 for every C, nothing for anything lower. This was only at report card and mid-term times if I remember right. You could do something similar, like a $20 for every A. She'd have to budget around that. If she wants her cell phone paid, or if she wants any other allowance, then she should be working for you. I would be careful about putting her in an actual job though, since if her grades drop then that's more long-term damage. If she's done with HS though, then yeah, time to cut things off.

lets see... about 10-15 new shirts.. lets say about 180 dollars then the pants.. etc i suggest you just but clothes or the first month because she will grow the first months clothes should only be up to 300 or less

Mostly spot-on and well spoken: The only criticism I have is that the less expensive lines he brought out were Jeans and Exchange , they are the most affordable. Emporio is the 2nd or 3rd most exclusive (in league with Collezioni), and is one of the three lines that have a annual show and a spot at Milan fashion week, I would say Exchange and Jeans are the most affordable. I'll also add that I think you might be mistaken with 'Armani Teen', as I've never heard of it before and theres no reference to it on the Armani Press website or the Giorgio Armani site - I think you're mistaken.
