We were looking into taking a weekend vacation into panama city, but noticed the hotels were a lot cheaper in the actual panama city than panama city beach, but i was wondering if anyone had any experience and knew how far of a drive there was from the city to the beach? if its 10-12 thats no problem, but i'm not wanting to be driving 30 miles to the beach both days. thanks.

So i'm coming to the usa this summer (from europe) and i'm searching a way to get from miami to panama city beach. what are my options by plane, bus or rental car. also which is the cheapest way to get there? can i buy a rental car from miami and drop it off to panama city beach? - it's a 14 hour drive. (also can you inform me how to get from panama beach city to miami - coming to miami in may and leaving in september) cheerio!

To hire a car will cost about $50 for 24 hours + petrol. Driving would probably be the most fun, however Florida seemingly goes on forever........... The next best bet would be to take a bus. Bus service is called Greyhound. http://www.greyhound.com - quick look at their www - bus would cost $85.00 The US has TERRIBLE rail service. --edit--- You can rent a car right at Miami International.

I know that spring break at panama city is notorious for their parties but is it the same in the summer. my friends and i were looking at going to pcb this summer and were looking for a party. will we find it or should we look at other beach locations?

I'm from Panama. In the city we have the bay that is not the best choice for beaches. You can go to Santa Clara that is 2hrs. by car from the city, also Playa Blanca and Decameron that are resorts and nice beaches as well. Decameron has all included (room, food and beverages). Playa Blanca has a very beautiful beach with white sand. All of them are about 2 hrs. from the city, and the most important, it's safe. All os them are in the Pacific Ocean. There are some others in the Atlantic like Portobelo that is used for snorkelling and scuba diving. Depends on what you want but all is fun. Good Luck and have fun in Panama where there is all the time!!

My friend and i are planning to go to the beach this june. we're only planning to stay for one day. which one is worth the drive? i'm coming from the north part of ga. we're also considering panama city beach, fl if it's more worth it than panama city. any other suggestions?

The weather in Panama City Beach in January is normaly has highs in the 50's or 60's and nights in the 40's. So I would take a jacket and some light weight sleeves.The days could be warm enough for shorts ,and a swim suit if the Hotel/Condo has a heated pool.

You should check out the Sandpiper Beacon! I called and they still have a few rooms left and you can probably still get a good rate. They also rent rooms to 18 yr olds so youd be fine. I'd call though cuz I'm not sure how many people you have in your group. But the Sandpiper is the place to be during Spring Break! That's why they are almost full. We go every year! 800-488-8828
