There are literally hundreds of things you can do to that particular car. The 1978 Mustang isn`t necessarily the most desirable of the Mustangs, but that being said it is still a collector car, and there are plenty of aftermarket options out there. As far as "typical modifications" go, we mainly get restoration parts orders for this car, seeing as how old they are. What you need to do is first evaluate the condition of your car. How well does it run? What is the condition of the paint? Does everything function correctly? Once the basic maintenance is taken care of, one can move on to modification, and that is purely up to you, and the direction you`d like to go with the car. Do you want more horsepower? There are options for the stock motor. Do you want massive horsepower? We have everything from crate engines to nitrous kits. Do you want an immaculate show car? We can supply hard to find trim parts, interior pieces, and chassis parts. As far as installation, start small until you`ve sufficiently expanded your technical knowledge and experience. I`d recommend doing some research. Join some Mustang forums, read some Mustang publications, and find out what it is you like. Then, when you`ve decided what it is you want, give us a call and we can help you get what you need.

I highly recommend you go to your local magazine store and have a look at the magazines on the shelf that pertain to repairs to and customizing 1978-1993 Mustangs. I would also suggest to speak with others in your area that own the same year car and learn form their experience. Perhaps you have a local Mustang Club and you could speak to their members. As well depending on what options your car came with you might want to upgrade it with options specific to the GT model By the way the best advise is to make a list of the improvements you are considering doing, put an approx price to each improvement , set a budget , set a target date for completion and stick to it. I looked around on E-bay and have found all kinds of parts for my car. Carbon Fiber parts hoods bumpers, just about anything you may want and a lot you never even new where out there! I just typed in 98 mustang and got 1155 items.

the best thing to do is get some quotes and no i dont think there are very many manufacturers who make an exhaust for that style of car. A mercury marauder exhaust would not fit. similar but differences in design.

Ford Mustang V6? That car should already be making ALOT of noise, even without any modifications. Man That's a sexy car!! Anyways going back to the question, well its a ford mustang, It just HAS to have a loud noise coming out of it, IT'S a angry, tough and wild car, and without loud exhaust noise, you're taking away one of the best feature of the car. I've got a Zetec Fiesta, and I put a new exhaust back box and tip. And to be honest the exhaust sound is so loud my mom can hear me coming home from the other side of the city. But remember, my car is a Zetec Fiesta(08 plate), theres a ££s gap between mine and your car.
