sounds like a blinder.. hmm there pretty tricky to deal with but diffeent thiings work for different people. toothpaste left on it over night, some tea tree oil, and a hot facewasher can all help draw it out

Q. Hard lump like pimple on chin?
about three days ago, i noticed a small limp on my chin near my jawline, yesterday it had gotten a lot bigger, and it's extremely hard. i put warm tea bags on it to try and bring it to a head, assuming it's some sort of pimple. today, it's so large that it literally covers my chin. you can't really see it, it's the color of my skin but you can notice it because the swelling is so bad. i'm not sure what this is, i looked some stuff up on cystical acne and "underground pimples" but i'm not sure. i don't think it's a cyst because it's not red or anything. please help :/

I get the same thing and i actually just went to see the dermatologist about it. They are a type of acne. Most acne is topical-breaks out on top of the skin. The bumps you have (i have them too, especially around my jaw line) are a type of acne that breaks out several layers underneath the skin. Thats why you can't pop them. The dermatologist told me that i should try a topical ointment or treatment like Proactiv and if i didn't see results in 3 weeks to come back and we would try an oral antibiotic or birth control. Its not a cyst, its just a tougher type of acne to treat...sucks, but at least you know what it is and that other people have it :)

a couple days after getting over a sinus infection, i noticed a hard lump right below my ear. it's about the size of a particularly large pimple, but it's certainly not huge. it doesn't bother me and over the past couple of days (i've had it for about 4 days) i've noticed it begin to get a bit smaller. it has no affect on my daily life and causes no inconveniences. is a doctors' visit really necessary? also, sorry this is in the respiratory diseases category. i wasn't sure where lymph nodes fit in, so i put it i the category that linked it to the sinus infection.

Doesn't sound like a lymph node. Have your doctor take a look at it and let him/her tell you it's nothing to worry about. It's not really a good idea to have people here tell you not to worry. They have no idea about your past medical history. You could be a neurofibroma patient for whom another nodule is significant. God bless.

Q. Painful lump under arm pit?
i had a pimple that had a large "blackhead" kind of thing in it. i am not really sure what they are called, but it was one of those hard white pieces. two days ago (not too long after i got the blackhead thing out), i woke up extremely sore and red slightly to the side of the bump i had. it is a huge knot, about the size of one of those bouncy balls you get from a gumball machine. it's red, swollen, hard, and hot. what the hell is going on? i am wondering if it needs to be drained, because it's obviously infection. but i don't understand how it happened? has anyone else had this happen to them?

You could have had an ingrown hair that turned into a pimple or black head. By picking it you possibly could have infected it, especially if you did not sanitize or clean your hands very well while doing that. Usually something like this that starts getting hot is because your white cells are attacking the infection and the body will raise the temperature of that area to stimulate the white cells. You said it was red and sore slighty to the right side of the bump, this could be the follicle inside, the root or the nerves to the root can be pulsating because it is infected. you should try to clean it with hot water and see if you can get the bump to drain. also look very close, you may be able to see if there is a tiny hair that is backing everything up. if so, try to remove it so you can drain and clean it with hot water. If you start feeling feverish its time to see a doctor, you may need anti-biotics to help fight the infection. good luck!

i had one for awhile turned out it was an ingrown hair so i squeezed all the stuff out it hurt like hell but i got it all out then cleaned it out then put anti bactieral med on it and im good now never came back

i had a small bump on my lower back a few days ago, it looked like a mosquito bite to me. the next day it got red and swollen around the hole (the bite) and there is now a large lump/ hardened mass. it is very painful it even hurts to move. there is nothing on my skin except for the bite and large red mark- it does not look like a pimple or anything. it is hard for me to get to a doctor so i would like to know if you think it is something serious or will go away in a few days. i am also exhausted/fatigued and have a slight headache but i think the headache is the cause of something else. any ideas?

Q. Small lump behind ear?
for about a year now i've had a small lump behind my right ear, it is about the size of a pimple which i first mistook it for and attempted to pop it. it is hard and movable. it doesn't hurt at all. furthermore, on my left side slightly lower behind my ear the lymph node there has been swollen since february, along with another below my jaw. both are reasonably larger, more marble sized in comparison to the lump behind my right ear and are usually tender to touch. i don't think it's a lymph node because of this difference but i don't know what else it could be.

Hmm it's hard to tell, I have two small "lumps"; at the back near the middle. doesn't hurt. Always had it. Although I think your talking about something else. What I would suggest is if your not wanting to go see a doctor to be on the safe side, perhaps search on google with "small lump behind ear" or find a medical question asking site on there. If you can, post a picture when posting about it to the site. But doctor is probably easiest to do. I dont think I would be too worried about it. But I think have it checked out just to be on the safe side. Hope this helps ^^
